    The object of the Society is the appreciation of the visual arts generally, and the improvement of members' own work by means of demonstrations, appraisals, outings to art galleries, exhibitions and all round encouragement, especially to beginners (there is no selection procedure).

    We are a mixed ability group sharing a common interest, a group where we all help each other and where the absolute beginner is as welcome as the professional artist. Members hail from many parts of the north east of Leicestershire.

Founded in 1994 by Norman Sims the Birstall and District Art Society is a friendly organisation of people who like to draw and paint.

The Birstall & District Art Society has been a godsend to me! When I joined I had never done any painting before, now I am gaining more confidence with each demonstration and class.

Keep up the good work!
